April Tam, Co-Founder
Los Angeles, CA
Of the $6 million dollars that April Tam has raised in her career, the single gift that inspires her the most is the $100K scholarship gift she closed for USC’s Masters of Business for Veterans program. By combining her fundraising strengths and deep relationship building skills, she secured a naming scholarship that memorialized a fallen soldier’s legacy for other veterans. One of the most recent recipients of the scholarship happened to be a marine who was apart of the recovery team to bring their son’s body back to the United States. As rare as this win-win was, April knew her “why” would always be forging meaningful connections that lead to lifelong impact for underserved communities.
With more than 16 years of experience in fundraising, program development, corporate and board relations, and event production, April has worked for several dynamic, public-serving organizations throughout her career, including the University of Southern California (USC), L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce and the Southern California Leadership Network. With the goal of working alongside good people, supporting one another, and creating opportunities to contribute to mission-driven causes, April has served as a capacity-builder for non-profits planning large-scale fundraising events.
April earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television and Radio from Ithaca College, her Master in Social Entrepreneurship from the USC Marshall School of Business, and an Executive Master of Leadership from the USC Price School of Public Policy. She lives in Glendora with her husband and two pet corgis, Piper and Sutton.
